I went last year to the 1st one....and I had a good time.
The facility is AMAZING....
I was looking for a boat, so figured I would get a jump on things before the Ottawa Boat show and the Carp show. There weren't a lot of booths, but it was a nice to be able to speak with some of the local boat dealers.
I think it did better than expected, so this year they have added more booths and a Cottage component.
I will be heading there today with my daughter. So I'll give you a run-down when I get home.
Cheers

I went Friday night. It was dead.
I think there were 5 boat dealers, a couple people selling tackle, not much of a "cottage section" as being advertised. Spend most of my time talking to Lawrence at the Blind Fishing Boat display. The company, First Mate Lures, that makes lead free weights and soft plastics had a great display of products.
Not a bad way to spend a bit of time. For the number of displays, the price should be $2 not $6, even if the parking is free.

Spent a few hours today with my daughter. She had a good time and it was a great way to spend some daddy-daughter time. As mentioned, not as much as I expected based on what was advertised. I saw Lawrence (Karma) but didn't get a chance to talk to him. Got some of the plastic baits from First Mate....pink Bubble gum for my daughter.
Big Jim was there....it was nice to chat with him.
He was very generous...gave a fishing rod to my daughter...came with a hat and some tackle. She was thrilled
Also gave me a SuperMan rod for my little guy at home
Not as busy either, but I think it had more to do with the nicer weather.
Wasn't too thrilled with the canteen either - so don't go hungry...
Anyway, it was a nice way to spend a couple of hours with my little girl

I just saw your FB comment about the show and was wondering how it was.
It's fun to stroll around these types of shows, particularly this time of year when we're (at least some of us) starting to get hungry for spring.
Isn't Big Jim awesome? How generous! This is just his style. Your daughter must have been thrilled.
Sounds like a nice afternoon.

Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.

show
thanks for the replies guys, will have to give it some serious thoughts tomorrow, I thought it would be a good place to check out the new boats and maybe get a deal.......... time to replace the old one for a nice 16 to 18 ft tinney!
As for boat dealers there, I believe there was the following:
- Johns Marine
- Arnprior Sportland
- White Lake Marina
- Orleans Boat World
- Pirate Cove Marine
- Carleton Place Marine

It was a fun stroll. Gotta love spending time with the kids. Have a few more events coming up shortly to look forward to attending to feed the hunger for spring/summer - the Ottawa Boat show (always a fun time) and the Carp show (another great event).
Yes, Big Jim is awesome!! She was a little shy, but very thrilled!
All in all a nice afternoon with my girl
