Caught on The Ottawa

I took the afternoon to do some fishing from shore yesterday on the Ottawa near Mud Lake. @nd cast in I caught a 2lb Red horse, the thing was a great fighter!.

Next was this guy!

The issue is, there were two major wounds/infections on his tail...

Nice fish otherwise... but not a good sign for this fish.

Just curious what time you were fishing? I have tried fishing that spot a few times this year, but found the current too strong and the water too high.

Nice fish.

When the water levels are down there are a few nice holes to fish. From the picture it is pretty clear that the water is well up into the woods. I don't foresee wading there anytime soon as it's too dangerous when it's running high.

seeing more fish with health issues and cancerous growths, no surprise though with all the garbage, sewage and pollution we put into our waters
