Aluminum prop repair (welding)

Post by mblaney »

This is directed at Daner... Thought I would post here so others would know the answer also. I have an aluminum prop (mercruiser) that needs to be fixed up , I think I heard somewhere that you guys deal with Marc Marine? Is there a standard pricing or estimates for these? Mine has a small chunk out of one blade. If you have a regular service to MM it saves me crossing the border to QC. :P

Hi mblaney.
Call today 526-5622 and ask for a price based on your prop size.
BTW they are being sent out for repair this Tuesday but you can expect to wait a few weeks for the repair.

There are a couple of welding shops on Albion Rd that might be worth looking into. I don't know if they do props but if they do you could save a lot of time. Cheers

Alum props are junk when dinged, vs. the cheap cost of new, call Dave at AIM marine inc in carp, he'll fix you up, new sometimes some used ones around.
