Really hate to do this but have been looking like crazy for a boat launch on Otty. Does anyone know where the public launch is on this lake?
Cheers

Re: Looking for boat launch
There are a couple of launches at Otty lake. Look up the address below on Google maps.
745 Dunc's Point Rd
Perth, ON K7H 3C7
GPS coordinates are N 44 49.251 W 076 13.752

Peter, don't know if you've already tried Otty Lake, or if you still have the same boat as last time I saw you,
but if so, I guess that launch referred to by 'geophisher' would suffice, but anything bigger or heavier, you
may want to look elsewhere!!
First of all, don't try looking for '745 Dunc's Point Rd.' as it's a private cottage. Had a LOVELY time
getting truck/boat turned around after getting down in there!!
The 'launch' is actually
right at the end of 'Miller Bay Rd.' It's a VERY steep drop to the water, and then very
shallow 40' to 50' out, and then a quick dropoff. I didn't even bother trying to launch there
(of course the teeming rain helped in my decision!!
) I wasn't so much
worried about the launch as I was concerned more with the potential horror-story with regards
to retrieval
So I wasted a trip up there (mainly due to the weather changing on me much faster than I had
anticipated
) but at least I know to do a little more research before I head up there again!

And BTW, I'll definitely head up there again as it looks like a great lake to have a go at!!

Thanks Cyber for the heads up. I am about to post an opener report filled with greatness......not. Long story short did not make it to Otty......yet.
Oh and yes I still have the same boat as before and I was a bit concerned with the launch there as well as I had heard some stories of it.
