What are your opinions on this boat and motor? If any of you have something better for me to look at that would be great as well. What should I be looking and listening for if I go check this out?
I plan to use it with my 14yo son for fishing the Mississippi and other spots like that. I plan to throw it on top of my van as I don't have a trailer hitch yet. We just want to be able to stand and have a bit more room than our canoe. I have a fish finder and trolling to put on this as well.
looks good, all depending on what type of lake you fish, you may benefit from a V hull boat.
Also 3hp will be good for trolling.

I would definitely want to do a compression check on that engine before purchase with the age of it. Plus even the Miss can blow up enough where that flat bottom punt will have a hard time. Personally,I would want a 12 footer for your purpose. Cheers
I've got a '72 6hp Sea horse on my 12 ft Smokersraft. Great little engine that will outlast me probably but it sure doesn't get you anywhere fast. That rig did a couple of week long tours to Kipawa even.
A ten foot punt has it's uses for sure, like little puddle lakes or duck hunting swamps, but you are quite limited compared to even a 12 footer. You have many more options to fish different waters IMO. Even a lake Like Charleston can be fished if you stay out of the big water on windy days. Not with a 10 footer.

Thanks everyone I think I will stop trying to take the fast route to the water lol. I think I will wait and do it right with a 14ft wide deep V. I was looking at the Legend Pro Sport if I go the new route. First thing's first I need a hitch and wiring installed.
