Fall fishing the Ottawa River!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Fall fishing the Ottawa River!

Post by rex.stpierre »

Hey guys...

With the weather getting chilly, the fish should begin to go back into cold weather patterns.

All the guys on tv say, this is the best time for big walleye and big bass.

Would anyone be willing to share a few confidence tactics they have, lures or patterns.

This is my first full season fishing the Ottawa and I intend on making the best of the this up coming fall!
This year I spent most of my money on beer, women and fishing...the rest I wasted.

A variety of both types of lures has been added to a stowaway in my fishing vest!

Still a bit early for the big walleye to start fattening up...usually from Thanksgiving on produces the best, at least in my experience.

November is best. The last two years, I've had my best days in mid-November on nice days.

agreed. Late october early november the best time for big fish and numbers. Anyone use rattlebaits for walleye? Very underrated bait, it usually catches the biggest fish of the day for me.

What time of day is best for fishing in November and what areas would be best for shore fishing?

Thank you :D
