Putting a Bronze cap on 2013....

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Putting a Bronze cap on 2013....

Post by RJ »

2013 open water season started with a bang with my buddies Tony and Ian. We still talk about that day every time were together...just a great start.

With the weather I saw coming for this week I knew last week would be it for the Lund. No need to push it really. Time to switch gears.

Smallmouth were my main love all Fall so I decided it was Smallies to cap it off. Down to the mighty St. Lawrence of course...

Joining me on the day were Chevy and Brandun, Brandun had never fished the river before but spends most of his time out on Lake Ontario chasing these same fish. He was in for a treat....

Chevy wanted to hit that Nickel mark for a Smallie but fell just a couple ounces short with this one...

Brandun popped this oinker in a back eddy...

This fella just looks so angry...

In the end it was just a great way to end the season. We dropped our best 5 in the weigh bag, it pulled the digi to 24.5 lbs. Yup, we can go home now.

Maybe a few weeks of steelheading (but I doubt it  ) in my future then ice. Bring on the ice!

Thanks to all who have read and enjoyed our reports in 2013. Your support is appreciated!

RJ

P.S. This was a fun evening too..

Thanks for sharing RJ!
Looks like a damn good end to the season for sure.

I can't wait for the ice either!
Maybe we'll see some more fishing reports and less of the soap opera drama that's been going on.

Some great looking fish RJ. I've heard reports of you being around the Lawerence that one pic confirms your in my honey hole lol! You gotta love the fall on the Lawrence. I'm hoping to target some crappies & Largies through the ice if the weather holds up.

I'd never fished that stretch ever until this year. I've spent hours looking at my Navionics PC app of that place. So much to go look at it's nuts.

Still a VERY spot on the spot type of bite!

Best was 5lb 11 oz. If had eaten one more Goby she'd have been that magical 6 mark!

Looks like a great end to a season!

If I may ask?

What were the water temps?
What were they biting on? Color selection?
What depth were they at?
