ice fishing near Reeve Craig Launch?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

From the Reeve Craig launch you will see a cluster of shacks to the southwest. These are shacks at the mouth of the Kemptville Creek; a very popular spot. I would suggest walking out from launch and finding the break line from 7-10ft and making holes along it. The walleye in the Rideau have generally turned on between 3-5pm lately. Spoons; gold and orange with a small dace or shiner head; with a lot of flutter have worked well for the past little while.

Guys that fish the Creek mouth drive through the Howard Ferguson Nursery in Kemptville. To get there from 416, take 43 west and turn right down a road across from the M&M store. Just follow the road to the end and you will come to an access point. It's up to you if you want to drive on but many do and there is a ton of ice. I personally don't fish in this area but I do fish a few miles west in a slightly higher current area and yesterday we had a little over 2' of ice.
