pike bait

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

pike bait

Post by tbone1088 »

is it allowed to use 2 trebles hook and nothing else on your line? Someone told me that was illegal unless you add a spinner or something which makes it a lure.

You can use whatever you want as a `lure` or `bait`. However, it is ILLEGAL to snag any fish. Meaning you cannot legally angle any fish species by any other means than allowing them to physically bite your lure i.e. hooking them in the mouth. Hope this helps. Good luck and cheers. :D

I asked a very similar question to MNR last year probably because I heard something similar to what you heard. Here was their response:

--------------------------

Hi,

Thank you for the inquiry.

You may not have more than four hooks attached to a line.

You may have a line with four treble hooks because a treble hook is considered one hook.

If you have any further questions, please call the Ministry of Natural Resources Information Centre at 1-800-667-1940.
