Why buy gear that makes you learn new skills and work harder just to get zero benefit?

Maybe if they had some crazy-shaped special 'super-lazer' type of hook that couldn't use a mear-mortal bent ring... then fine.

But they are all just old fashioned hooks, without an eye.
