Trolling motor advice

Hey Guys, looking for some advise on which Trolling motor I should pick.

I have an older Springbok 14ft aluminum boat, basic boat and mainly fish the Ottawa river. Usually two guys in the boat with the two of us probably weigh around 420 lbs
Not sure how much the boat weighs. It has no flooring or anything in it to weight it down. I was thinking maybe a 30# thrust would be good enough.

I have a 12ft aluminum with a platform and I have at times brought 3 people including myself and I have a 36lbs of thrust and rarely do I have at full throttle! But I mostly fish the Rideau and lakes....

I have a 14 footer and use a 45 thrust and it handles the boat very well no problem whatsoever.

I have a buddy with the same setup. 45 MK Edge with a handle extender. TM is on the bow and his boat will motor at full throttle. He also has a floor and benches so I can't see you having any issues.

Get the most lbs you can afford. You'll never regret having a little extra juice. I used a 55lbs on my 17' fish & ski for a season, I wouldn't recommend it but it was ok. Surely 45lbs is plenty for a 14'. Have fun this summer!

30 lbs will be good in perfect conditions. Add a good wind, current and weeds and you will kick yourself not going to at least 45lbs. I have a 30lbs on my barebone 14fter and 75% of the time I wish I had a bigger one.

Well I also should mention that I have an older Johnston 15hp as my main motor, so I always have that to use if the conditions are rougher, but I just wanted to get an electric to get rid of the gas smell and noise!

30lbs should be plenty then. I use the 14 footer on back lakes so I don't even bring a gas motor.

I have a 38# thrust on a 14 foot. It is not enough on windy days. If you add the current of a river to that, I would say that 45# is a minimum.
