Requirements of a storage shed for most boats
My wife is determined to build a studio shed for herself. This could be a property that we only hold for about 5 years so I'm thinking of the angle of future buyers which could include boaters. What are the dimensions of a decent sized shed to store most boats? Anything else the shed should have?

240v outlet. So many uses, one of which is a heater for the winter. I use both of mine all the time.

Why not save your money and go with a portable garage? Canadian Tire sells Shelter Logic and they regularly come on sale. I've had one for 5 year and it's still going strong. You need to anchor it to the ground really well and take the snow and ice off before it gets too heavy. If you build a boat shed, that's buyer specific and you might not get your investment back. I'd build when I'm not moving.

If you had read the Original post, you would see the first purpose is for his wife to use as a studio. Didn't realize he's parking his boat in his wife's studio. Bound to be some friction there.

Personally I think the minimum depth would have to be 25' considering the length of the average boat and trailer, 30' would probably be ideal, being a double garage would be it, though that's for the kinds of boats I'd be towing.
Unless the property itself is on or right by a lake and is likely to attract that kind of buyer, I don't see much point in worrying about what a boat owner might think of it for future sale.
