Anyone have any idea on how thick the ice is at the north end??
I was going to take my quad across - to a camp - but wasnt too sure on the thickness...
I was told people are already skidooing across???

Re: White lake North end
I would be VERY cautious wandering around anywhere on White lake. I was on Pickerel bay a week ago and there was only a little more than an inch of ice.... It was frozen but then opened up with that warm 19 degree day a couple weeks ago and the ice that was there broke up and blew in to the shores of small bays but the majority of the main bay was very thin ice. I only weigh 150 lbs and I could break through it if I jumped on it. I have heard other parts of the lake like sunset bay, had more ice as it never melted off in the warm spell, so there should be 4-6 inches, but don't take my word for it...... This snow will not help matters for sure.

Great update Smokercraft, thanks! I was thinking of heading up that way this sunday, was going to try 3 mile bay on white lake, or maybe calabogie lake. Never been to either, and I'm not sure where the public access is for calabogie...any more info on access/ice conditions would be much appreciated!
Re: White lake North end
Here is a map that I made with access points. Please let me know if you have any to add.

Calabogie is larger so less likely to find good ice there, but I haven't checked yet.
3 Mile bay is rather shallow and sheltered, usually freezes up fast they had the shacks out last year on Nov 29!
Here is a decent map showing depths, or rather shallows.

Wow, that's a great map man! Thanks. I will hopefully have a report up monday
Re: White lake North end
Made it out 3 mile bay on white lake sunday. Ice at shore was a dicey 2.5" with about a foot of snow and slush on top
Ventured out carefully and found the majority of ice was 4-6", but every hole we drilled added to the mess on top. Having never fished the lake, was happy to nail a perfect eater walleye in the first 10 mins, in 6 fow on a small jiggin' rap. The rest of the day was almost exclusively 2lb largies, tons of fun. We caught over 50 bass, a few jumbo perch and 1 pike. A great first day on the ice, no pics as there was no monsters just great numbers

Thanks for the report! How do you get out to three mile bay? It seems like both sides of the bay are all private properties...

Good to know, thanks!!
Re: White lake North end
I had a friend with a cottage on the south side of the bay we walked out from. Cedar cove let's you park for free if you buy something from restaurant. BE CAREFUL, there was a lot of water and slush on top of water and there was some definitely unsafe ice, we couldn't go where we wanted to due to poor ice, which I imagine is much worse now with this warm weather!
