Tomorrow afternoon!!! Conditions at Petrie?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Tomorrow afternoon!!! Conditions at Petrie?

Post by qcconnection »

Hey guys, thinking of hitting Petrie for a few hours to get a fix tomorrow afternoon.

Can anyone comment on conditions on Walleye bay? Slush, snow and that good stuff??

And if you`re around tomorrow afternoon, I`ll likely have my nanook setup somewhere!!

Cheers

Ice conditions were good this morning. Hard ice, no slush at all.

I saw on the ice condition website that there`s something like 30+ inches? Need an auger extension or anything?

I was there on Saturday. Ice is thick but standard auger is fine. Good luck!

I went out last night out past where all the shacks used to be. Ice is pretty thick, but getting thin in some spots with current. Not to slushy and the bite was still on before dark. No extension needed.

Ended up out for a few hours on Wednesday.

No luck! started out in 27 FOW and moved in to 24. Didn`t even mark much on the sonar.

1 family was out when I first got there, but took off after about an hour. Another gentleman showed up about 4 or so, then a couple of other guys drove on in a jeep around 5ish. Didn`t look like anyone was getting much. I bailed around 6:30 for a birthday party!!!

Maybe next time Petire will surrender some of her gold!!

That be the reason lad. You left 2 hours early, for the shallower late bite anyway. Try again. We're still making ice some days.
