Rod holders
Rod holders
Apart from the SALTY crew
What are other good rod holders for musky?
Doesn't seem to easy to find here in O-Town...
I want to mount them on the boat gunnels and be able to remove them once the cover is back on.
Please DO NOT say Trojan Tackle....$700 for a set up is a bit steep.

Re: Rod holders
Hey Jimmy,
I see FishnTech has the Cannon clamp mount rod holders on special right now.
I don't know much about rod holders, but the Cannon system's quiet a sturdy system.

Re: Rod holders
Depending on the gunnel and the angle you plan on having the rod at,.. Scotty (can't remember exact model) makes a pretty tough holder.
Re: Rod holders
Most musky guys do not trust the plastic rod holders as a 50 incher taking off is a real strain on the plastic.
They use the down easters that are available at Sail for not too much more than the Cannon or Scotty.
Some guys mount them on the transom as their boat cover is not tight there.

Re: Rod holders
I have the Scotty Salty's with powder coat at Paddletales. Can't remember the price off the top of my head though.

Re: Rod holders
I've seen these at Sail. Works awesome with my Musky rod and same holders that a Musky charter I went on used.
