Alright,
`Tis the season! So, what`s everyone`s favorite cocktail at the camp after a long hard day of not seeing anything??
Something complicated? Simple like rye and ginger?
Let`s hear what everyone likes!

Not sure if we're a minority, but we dont drink at the camp during hunting season. lol We anually place a bottle of whisky or rum on the shelf, but dont touch it until there's a hunter with something on the meat hook. We dont frown on drinking, we just arent drinkers.

We have been flying into the same lake/river system for more than 45 years
we have (had) a long standing tradition of having a bottle or two of Moody Blue while cleaning our moose. We call it a Rock Party.
Alas, they stopped making Moody Blue about 5 years ago so we have downgraded to Baby Duck.. just not the same:)
In the early days when we took 4 guys and gear in on a Beaver.. we drank rye and Tang.. ahh the good old days
Now we order another plane to ensure we have what we want:)

Anything wet really, lol.
Beer, rum, rye, wine. Our tradition is once there is something on the meat hook we all take a shot of the fireball.
I don't know why because I hate the stuff, lol.
Then the boom sticks are put away and we finish the bottle at the camp.

I havn't hunted much in the last 20 years. Had to give up my guns, when I left to work in the States.
But... when we left for the week, we loaded up on cold pints, and lots of 'em.
Coffee, black as tar, first thing in the morning. Puts lead in your pencil, best way to start the day.
And when we got back from our spots, we'd all gather around on our 4wheelers, and shoot the s**t about what we'd seen all day. While chatting, we'd pass a bottle (or two) of Yukon Jack liqueur around. "The Black Sheep of Canadian Liquors"
100 proof, straight up, no mixing. This stuff warmed you up after a long day out in the bush.
Warning: if you decide to try this whiskey this fall, take it easy at first; it'll jump out and bite you after an hour or two of sippin'...
