Nice setup!
Oh, yeah! I think that Froome participated in the tour. This year he looks much stronger. He was the best at vuelta hill stages. I saw it myself.

Sorry to jack your thread.

I'm currently in the same boat ( )

I have a 12ft Sportspal that I just bought a trolling motor (Minkota 30/30) for. Last night I picked up the motor mount.

My ideal situation is to put the battery in the front of the canoe and run the cables to the back. I have my boat seat, and myself in the back already. With the motor at the back, that's starting to get heavy. My tackle and other essentials are in the middle. Plus, I figure having the weight spread out like this might make it easier to stand up in the canoe.

I would love to get a lighter battery that isn't so heavy as traditional batteries, but would still run a motor my size. For me, it's more about lifting it. Some that I saw were almost impossible for me to lift, and that was just on and off a shelf. Add to the scenario, 'real life' and I could see myself dropping it right through the canoe.

Any suggestions are welcomed. :)

When I had my 14 ft pointed Sportspal I found rowing the best option. Sitting in the middle, the weight is evenly distributed, you have great control of the boat, two short oars and related hardware is a light propulsion package! You also have both ends of the canoe for all your stuff. Ok both hands are full and you are rowing backwards so forward vision isn't great but you can get up a reasonable speed or slow right down to nothing for quiet trolling.
