ice condition below Long Island lock on the Rideau

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

ice condition below Long Island lock on the Rideau

Post by 68special »

Drove there this morning. Found no evidence of ice fishing. I was wondering if anyone on this forum had some news about this spot?

Usually some people fishing this time of year. Thickness of ice maybe? Low water condition?

Thanks

I have been there 3 times this year. LOTS of ice. Caught lots of perch with my sons and saw another lad ice a nice pike.
All 3 times I have been there, only 3 or 4 folks out. It's been nice and quiet so far.
I'll never apologize for being a hunter (or a fisherman)!

Hi,

I was out there last Sunday with my son. We caught a bunch of perch and a small pike. Nothing exciting but fun place for youngsters to get a feel for the ice. Lots of ice in the first half of the bay.
