It was a bit windy, but we setup on Saturday on the Big Rideau and the perch were on immediately. We get skunked more than we like on ice

so when we got the first smaller ones we kept them. Turns out some larger ones showed up as well which was fine with us. Did a few hours and headed in.
We had 8 inches of black ice, which was lucky, normally this bay has 14+ and we were drilling old school with a hand auger.
You could see schools on the bottom. 12 ft flats, light weed bottom, on a jigging blade bait, copper.
Fried perch appetizer at dinner.
