Don't be too sure, those forecasts change by the day as it already has. Thursday is only -4 and -5° now but at least it will be making quality ice with no snow cover.

Hey Smitty. Have you recently seen what the ice conditions are at the bay? It would be great if there is no snow cover!

For weather I always use Accuweather. I find it to be a very reliable source. Looking at the long term temp forecast, I'll stick with what I said before and I'll go Jan 14th earliest, Jan. 21 latest to set up the hut. Hopefully we don't gat a dump of snow to delay things...

before the ice becomes safe enough for us to get out there... I'd like to take a second to remind us all to clean up after ourselves.
about 5 times last winter on my walk back to the car, I saw beer cans and cigarette butts left all over the ice by guys who had left before me.

bring a bag...throw your junk in it... not difficult
