Madawaska River or head pond?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Madawaska River or head pond?

Post by Jameszy »

Hello all,

Heading that area to fish this weekend. We’ve fished the head pond quite a bit and have had good luck on bass in the inlets and such. We’ve never fished the river at all. Curious if there is some insight on the area. Would be nice to catch a couple walleye but mostly after bass.

Thanks!

I hope you found some fish this past weekend. I have always had much better luck in the head pond than in the river, but I do not fish the area all that often.

Caught some smallies and rock bass in the river but the head pond was overall way better. Thanks!

Clay Bank is by far the best one.

That was happening at both launches a few years back and some other parking lots. I haven't heard of any though for quite a while now. I do know for a fact of a successful sting operation that took place at Eagles Nest where they had GPS transmitters installed in some electronic equipment and ended up arresting some people from an hour East of Ottawa. A buddy of mine guides there often enough and I haven't seen any reports of that nature from him at all.
