2024-2025 Ice Reports

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Yeah, Constance Lake's a bit early, I think. Two and a half inches isn't much, especially with that slushy top layer. I'm waiting for at least four inches of solid ice before I even think about venturing out.

Haven’t been out myself but I’d assume the ice is probably safe to drive on, or nearly there , if that’s what you’re wondering. I was out on Saturday last weekend and we were on about 8 inches of clear ice (which I’d assume is about the same for most lakes) and there was a big group of guys who had driven out on 4-wheelers, UTVs, etc. With the cold weather we’ve had in the past 5-6 days I’d be confident that areas without current or springs should have around a foot of ice by now. Definitely check for yourself , but the ice is certainly good for walking.

Was out on Petrie Island yesterday. Ice was about 11-12 inches thick in the Walleye bay and 14 inches in the Crappie bay. I'd assume most lakes have around a foot or more by now. People with permanent shacks are gonna be really happy this year, looks like it'll be a much longer season than the past couple of years.
