Petrie Full Moon Muskie Fever

Petrie Full Moon Muskie Fever

Post by Seaweed »

Well I want to thank RJ and Gordo for doing such a great job and stirring up my inner fishing freak... examining those pictures you guys posted caused me to leave work early and get out on the water.

What a beautiful night. Flat water and current hardly detectable...river must be down a bit.

My partner and I hit some of our favorite spots and at our second spot he hooked into a small ski that was professionally released as I continued to work the brushpile.

On the other side of the pile I just kept throwing in this spinner bait thinking for sure that I would get a big ole largemouth or smallie off the pile. Much to my surprise though... this is what I hooked into.

Image

What a fight... a couple of shots and another professional release and she even hung around the boat for a bit getting a good look at us. What a nice nite on the river. She measured in at 48 inches. No scale on board and I am not even going to hazard a guess..... just look at me smiling. This is near that spot that I saw that big girl last year and for a split second... I thought... but hey I'll take this for sure. Ring up the points John. I havent' added any lately.

Hey Seaweed, that's a beauty my man, just a beauty! Congrats :!: :!: If it helps at all, any 48" Muskies I've seen, have been around 30lbs..Beauty!!

Now, I'm not saying it WAS 30lbs, just trying to give you an idea. Maybe RJ or Richard can give you an idea too!

Losing weight

Could be the dark colors I`m wearing MT

Amazing how a chunky fish can make a big guy look slimmer.

Gotta love that.

Very nice fish Seaweed.

I slowed down Musky fishing lately as I was trying to target Sturgeon in the past few weeks. I'll be pounding the waters again this weekend in hopes of catching my first late season fatty.
