WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF THE QUINTE TRIP

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Sounds like a hoot!
There are few problems in life which can not be solved with a well-placed, high-explosive projectile.

I don't know if we all have just one but several spring to mind...

- Certainly meeting everyone again and seeing some new faces has to be at the top of the list

- The stories told on saturday night were a riot and had everyone in stiches...

- Eye-trackers constant help in telling us those small things that make all the difference in putting those trophy eye's into the boat.

- My personal best walleye and sheepie plus seeing jazman do the same with his pb eye and sheepies !

- Scrambling in the boat to get the trolling motor up while spiking those 4ft waves. We can laugh about it now but seriously it could have turned nasty. I was glad to see most people wearing their lifejackets.

- Sharing a cabin with rj, rj's dad and gordo.. great guys.. "make the bad man go away"  Big-o's wake-up calls - priceless   always timed exactly 60 seconds before our alarm sounded

- RUK story about the guy directing traffic... still making me laugh now

Basically too many laughs and too many memorable moments to pick just one... I'm sure the first timers on this trip will be back for the next fh trip...

besides the obvious pleasure of meeting more hawktawkers....always a pleasure :) I would have to say catching my pesonal best walleye and my first sheepie.

And the highlight was seeing someone we had only just met walk into freezing cold water to help with loading boats :D . this is just one of many examples of how we have all become part of this "fish-hawk family" of which I'm honoured to be part of :D :D :D.

The best 3 hours of the weekend for me were the first three when FFF was catering to me like I haven't seen in 25 years for fear I was going to turn around and leave.
The next best time was watching Lost leaders boat getting pulled out of the water on the trailer still tied to the dock.
And last but not least was getting to meet everyone - thank you.

I would have to say the best part for me was meeting everyone, I didn't make it out fishing much as I am not much of a walleye fisherman and usually only fish in fair weather secondly I would have to say standing outside in the rain and cold swapping stories till 1:30 in the morning

Seagulls, Ladders and Bulls OH MY!!!!!

Thanks for a memorable trip.

JigNPig, I knew the username, but I couldn't remember you avatar. Seeing it now, I of course recognize it, but I have to say you look at least 15 years older in your avatar!

Meeting everyone in Real Life is always a blast, but I think the best momment for me was talking to Bacon on the FRS radio on how to set out his inline planer boards as he and RUK followed me...I just got both of my boards out just in front of them and had two fish on... :D

Beaching my boat on Saturday with FishForFun and Greymist was something I will never forget...and man that 385lb motor makes getting the boat off the beach a little difficult. Thanks again to Greymist and FFF for helping me get my boat back on the trailer.

Markus,

It was nice to meet you and the family have the girls slowed down any they just don't stop do they. Actually The big bass wasn't mine Fishmaster's 13 incher won it, it crushed my whopping 12" monster I think I need to get a better avatar but it is hard to change from that monster smallie by the way if you decide to make a day trip look me up it would be worth a sick day to get out with the Walleye Slayer.

It's really hard to nail down one favorite for the trip, so I'll list a few that made my short list ...

smokes on the porch with boys
meal time chats - particularly the saturday night whoopla
the late hour chats outside my cabin
the food
the chance to shake hands and kiss babies with the nicest group of people you could ever hope to meet.
and the fishing with Misses Livewell. Albeit it short, it certainly was an outting to remember. Sorry honey.

Glad to see everyone had a good time, and really nice to put a voice behind the posts, it all makes a lot more sense now.

Can't wait for the next event, here's hoping the weather cooperates, just once.

The whole trip was great.
Comparing fish stories and boarderhouse reaches around the dinner table is always a highlight
But really its about meeting people as enthusiastic about fishing as myself.

thought about this, even wrote it down, posted it, and found out i wasn't logged in - lost the whole thing....

oh well, here i go again...

first and foremost the people - OMG - everyone was sooo fantastic! like family! :D

Turkeyman's stories combined with the look of utter amazement on Hoss's face and then Hoss's equally funny replies!

Jig and Furious - my face and sides still hurt!! the ladder, the ice fishing, and much, much more

RUK - white gloves will never be the same around my house!

Big-O taking the time to help me out with my casting difficulties, will be looking into a new rod and reel!

everyone who contributed parts to mt's trolling set-up, while it got no use, and we got no fish, it will come in handy in the future - i will be getting him "trolling for dummies"

i came to realize that bacon (aka uncle craig at our house) is no longer allowed to use my blankets when he sleeps over - he'll have to bring his own!

And last because this is a bittersweet memory....

Sunday morning after breakfast we have decided to go home, the weather does not look good for non-trollers, I sit and chat with Banjo, he's going out to get his trophy fish... TRO-PHY FISH..... jeeze, when you put it that way, i have to at least TRY, so off i go to find MT and tell him the good news - we're goin out on the water baby!! he's very happy, we run into CMan, he's gonna go too, we head out, gonna launch just past Blakewood, we arrive and, ooooohhhh, that water does NOT look good, the waves, and, oh, here comes the rain, uh, yeah, no, we're not going, what are the chances Banjo is gonna get a trophy on a day like this anyway............... i'm sure you all know how wrong i was...

what are you talking about FFF as I remember you and Greymist were in bed before us.
The funniest phrase I ever heard was Greymist calling out in the dark, Martin where are you going, put your glasses on.

The company was great, Markus and Pink Lady your girls are the greatest I enjoyed chatting it up with everyone and I hear RJ's a poker player but I guess nobody wanted to part with any coin
