Parental Leave - Highly recomment it!
Hi All,
I just got back to work this week after 3 months of parental leave. I haven't been visiting the board much during this time so I have lots of catching up to do.
I just want to say to all you fathers to be out there, be it now or in a few years, to seriousily consider to take parental leave. I had so much fun spending more time with my daughter. I am glad I did it. I didn't have time for much else but my daughter and have a good relationship (even though she is just 1 year old) and hopefully this will remain for years and years.
This option was not available till recently (probably earlier 90s) and the previous generation of fathers to me, a lot have said they would have done it if it was an option. So I am posting to the fathers to be to consider taking parental leave. You won't regret it.
Just a side note, if you think being at home will give you more fishing time you are dead wrong. You will need a very understanding wife to get out for time to time.
Cheers,
Mike

I can vouch for that, Mike!probassing wrote:

I think it's great that you arranged for this commitment of time to your daughter. She'll be a better person for it. Way to go, DAD!

There's a great song out called "Mr. Mom" by a country band named Lonestar. It's hysterical.

Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.

Afternoon nap time was my favorite. I like my beauty rest.
Probassing, now the only hard part about getting back into the working world is getting the kids songs out of your head. The sickly, haunting chants of Barney, the Wiggles, and the others are the hardest thing to shake.
Congrats Dad!

The only good news is the songs are easy to play on guitar and a big hit at kids parties.

Being 100% honest, WIG, I always LOATHED that dufous dinosaur. Ty hated him, too, but Shane seems to think he's the cat's meow.Wall-I-Guy wrote:Jumpin' criminey woman, you had to bring that song back into my head. I was wondering why the cube farm on the far side of the building was so quiet.probassing wrote:Hi All,
