Parental Leave - Highly recomment it!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

My wife had to suggest very hard that I take parental leave with my little girl. So I decided to take it from June to September. What a blessing that was. Enjoyed every minute of it. Took the little one fishing with me. Got the pictures on my desk....... I even took the wife.

The only thing about parental leave is trying to get EI from the governement. It took me 2 months to get my first payment. After that was hell........................

BBB,

I hear you about EI. It took me a while as well. Make sure you have some extra cash in the bank while you wait for the E1 checks. I didn't. Good thing the wife was bringing in some cash.

Cheers,

Mike

Parental leave would've been great, but the wife knew what she was doing with the kids and didn't trust that I knew too  She took 8 months. Sure I could have got my 4, but the lost revenue would've meant 4 extra months in the North. And, that's not part of the grand plan.

Leave has it's benefits for some though.
