Advice needed on float suit
I can get a Stearns flotation suit brand new for $200 cash. The tag on the inside says flotation suit model # FS 7580 and Anti Exposure Coverall Model # IFS 580 i. All the searches I have done on this suit say that it's a 'anti-exposure work suit' and I was wondering if this would be ideal for fishing as well. Any input I can get would be appreciated.

Stearns is a good name, they make alot of different PFD's, however what your describing is a two piece suit, a set of bibbed pants and a coat overtop. It will be warm and its meant to work in , the only problem with the two piece, and I have both, is your survial time is greatly increased in a one piece floater. In a one piece , like a wet suit if water does get in and it will, the body will warm that water somewhat, probably splitting hairs here but I would go with the one piece if I had a choice. I bought my Mustang years ago now and it really is worth the investment! if you need it bobbing around in the water is the wrong time to wish you had of boaught the proper one for your situation!

Floater suit
I have worn a Stearns suit as well as the other popular brands, and in my opinion the Stearns is one of the best.
Stearns is a company from the UK but for a number of yrs. their suits were manufactured under license, by a company in southern Ontario by the name of Ranpro. If you check the label, it will tell you if that's the case with this particular suit. Several suits were manufactured without the CG approval when they first started in Ont. but they are identical to the CG aproved suits. You might want to check that if it's important to you.
