flouro carbon leaders/line
Until I started reading fishawk I had never heard of flouro carbon line, first time I saw it was BOQ with ET. Now I have always used XT, and a leader was metal. I just want to know, when did flouro carbon line become available and how often and for what are you guys using it, ice , rivers, trolling etc. I'm sure there are others on the board who would like some info on this besides myself. Oh and are there special knots for this line and what is it you like about it!

FFF, I've used it only first time last year and love it, even use it icefishing. It is so invisible that it is amazing.
I use 4lb ice fishing with 2 ft lead and 40 lb for downrigging, 3 ft lead.
I use trilene knot, wet really good though before cinching. Ice fishing use double uni directly to Trilene Cold which is dark blue.

im in the same boat as you FFF. ive never heard of it till last fall but didnt try it till this winter fishing for trout. wether it has made a difference or not i'll never know but catching trout that ive never caught before has me sold on it. i'll use it when ever i can. as for knots, i only use the improved clinch (making sure its wet) and have been trying the palomar knot. i dont think ive got the palomar down pact yet as ive had a couple break off on hook setting.

special lines
FFF,flourocarbon leaders are being used by a majority of charter captains on lake ontario,ever since the zebra mussels arrived and cleaned the water up 
.I use it all the time myself for trolling and tying worm harnesses.The one thing to remember is,when tying knots,always wet the knot before tightening down. If you don't,the heat produced will weaken the knot and you can snap it at that point.

we tried some 50lb for stregnth on a scale broke at 18 lbs. then we tried on fish. major seperation lost fish. we use leaders here for musky and we all went back to big game mono.. dont know if it was a bad batch but this was 2 different spools so im staying with big game green mono. perfect leader material. just my 2 cents

You thoughts on this?
Tried it for the first time last year on one of my flipping rods. Since I use braid in almost all my flipping areas I was a little worried about sesitivity and strenght. I was pleased witht he results and the fish I bagged in the tourney. I use it in clear water and where weed cover is spars (eg. Arround wood and dooks with zebra muscles) It is more abrasion resistant than braid in this situation. I will be trying it on my tube rod and senko rod this year. I use P-Line in 20lbs on my flipping rod and 15lbs on everything else (Bass fishing).
I have seen more and more people using flourocarbon in the 80-100lbs range for leaders when muskie fishing. I have only heard great things by the people who are catching all the fish .

Fluorocarbon & Main Line
Remember when using fluorocarbon match it to your main line or bigger don't go too small. It's fluorocarbon fish can't see if too small you can break off on hook sets, specially if your using it with braid. Blood knot or Double uni-knot will work fine.
Re..
Has anybody tried using flourocarbon as a main line (ie Berkley Vanish)? I've used it as a leader before and it looks to me like it might work as a main line especially on a flippin stick.
