How many of you guys and gals have seen this new show on T.V. I have watched a few of the episodes so far and I think it is a great show. They fish Lakes that are well known(and used) and they are not afraid to tell you exactly where to go. We need more shows like this that aren't all about advertising but more about helping the everyday angler catch fish without being told what they have to buy to do it. This show is just like this website, it's all about the fishing and having fun and less about the selling of products. I hope everybody gets a chance to see it. Just my thoughts for the day(not worth much really)

I watched todays episode. I liked it and thought highly of it.

The only problem i have with the show is the fact that they tell you the lake they are fishing. Saying they were fishing the Kawartha's Would have been suficent if you ask me. Telling people that you were on a specific lake i the Kawartha's just dosn't seem right if you ask me.

Tell me would you have told them what lake you were catching those musky on?

I would have.. the kawarthas (not even specific ones) are no secret to anyone, plus the idea of the show is to show people that they can catch all those fish without hiring a guide 10 hrs north of the tree line, they can get them right in their backyard.

Curtis when I post on the board I give location and presentation, what's the problem with that? Your a young guy always looking for help and ideas why would you have a problem with these guys naming a lake? Think about it and tell me what info should or shouldn't be shared, not trying to start anything but I don't see the problem!

Hey all,

I've also watched this show on numerous occassions and I really like it. The graphic illustrations to explain what is being done and why, the explanation of the products being used, and the absence of a crazy, loud, and annoying host welcomed.

Hey, what do you guys think of us getting an invitation to participate on this show as a guest for one of their episodes? I think I'll start a poll and see what kind of results we get. Who knows, it's possible....isn't it?

I have only seen one episode...carp fishing in Hamilton harbour...talk about your own backyard....agree with everything said above about the show, except I am also curious about the info part....

Getting specific info on not only where they are fishing but also lure , presentation , structure fished etc is what makes this show stand out .

What is the sport in being told exactly where to fish, what to fish with and how to fish it? There is none.

In this day in age where information is so accessible, giving details of location can really be harefully to the fisheries. For example, look at the Bay of Quinte. The moment someone figures out how to catch these monster Walleye in the fall and post this information, there is a flood of anglers going there. I have witness this first hand so don't tell me it didn't or doesn't happen.

If you want to give the ALL the details in your fishing report or fishing show that is fine but don't expect it from me anymore.

The problem with irresponsible angling doesn't lie in the info, it is in the hands of the offending anglers themselves. As you say above - info is widely available these days, so there is really no stopping people from getting onto fish.
The objective of the show is to promote responsible angling, catch and release and other positive environmental messages.

We can't stop the bad guys, but we might be able to teach them something and turn them into good guys.

Busting into the TV industry is tough and I think you guys have sucessfully accomplished it.

I'm firmly in the camp that supports sharing information with fellow anglers. I just can not appreciate the idea that there is no sport in walleye fishing the BOQ if someone has advised you to fish east of the Glenora ferry in the trench between 25 and 35 feet down using Mann stretch 20s off of boards. Such information doesn't guarantee anything other than perhaps some non-experienced anglers might try their luck fishing walleye in the BOQ. So what if they catch and release some trophy walleyes? I don't begrudge anyone that experience! However, I don't expect anyone to provide the name and location of their "secret" small inland trout lake where such information could soon put the health of a small trout fishery in jeopardy.

Everyone is entitled to their own view on this topic. Just wanted to add my view to the mix.

I could write a 30 page dissertation on how to throw a perfect spiral pass, what type of cleats to wear on light frost turf and the theory of facing a 4-3 defence.

It won't make you a great quarterback.

Knowledge is not ability and is to be shared, IMHO.

A lot of coaches would be out of work otherwise.

Probassing,I understand your grief over all the boats fishing your favorite area on the bay,but remember,you were hounded until you gave the info up a couple of seasons ago on the Quinte forum.When speaking of world class fisheries,I hardly think it would be kept quiet forever. You still had an excellent trip last fall so it was'nt that bad was it? I also saw the increase of traffic and expanded my range to find fish away from traffic,thats what fishing is all about anyway right? Good luck next fall,roughrider

I also have no problem sharing locations and tips on catching fish that I target... that is what this board is about, and that what makes it the best site in Ontario, perhaps in Canada , I vist many other sites and not one is as dedicated to sharing information on fishing multi species Ken and Superdad helped me land my first Quinte Walleye last year, I helped John catch is first Quinte Walleye, John helped many people catch thier first Carp...in turn we helped John catch Bass last year...a fish he never targeted before . Xenos helped me catch my first Salmon from my own boat ...I inturn helped a few people catch their first Salmon. Markus took many people from the Ottawa area to experance Lake Erie fishing....people catching hugh Rainbows , Lakers, Salmon and even Gar for the very first time,with out this sharing of information , this would have never happened . In turn , we helped Markus catch his first Walleye and his very first muskie. Fish-Hawk get togethers, where people who don't have boats , get to experance fishing from all types of boats, from the 14 foot car toppers to a 18 foot boats with all the latest equipment(Eye Trackers) , Ice fishing....this has been a banner year for Hawk talkers on the ice....all due to people here , willing to share information,tips and techniques and locations,and this is only a few, of the people, there are many others that did the same thing, time in and time out threw out the year . Again this what sets this board a head and shoulders above all others And I hope to see this trend of sharing..continue
