Early Bass fishing in the Gatineau's, Quebec.

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Early Bass fishing in the Gatineau's, Quebec.

Post by MrJJ »

Hey All,

Has anyone seen that there are at least two lakes that Bass open on April 23rd?
And has anyone actually fished that early on the Quebec side? The two lakes that I have found that Bass opens early are Lac des ÃŽles and Lac Quinn. Has anyone fished anyone of these two lakes and are there any boat ramps at either one of these?

Thanks for the info!

Lac Quinn has a ramp with no dock. When you get to the lake, you stay on the right until you get to the ramp. 10 years ago, there were hardly any bass in that lake, now they are everywhere. Buck caught a pile of nice ones there through the ice while fishing for whitefish and has caught hundreds there during summer. We do have a tough time though getting anything of size on a regular basis.

I can garantee that Lac des Iles has a ramp since Pro Bass Québec has a tourny there in the spring, if I am not mistaken and is a popular lake since it's closer to a town.

Bass is open year round in Northern Ontario...check the regs for the exact divisions.

Is the bass fishery strong enough that they need not worry about targetted spawning bass?

I have fished the Gatineau river...outstanding bass fishery!
