I'm the son of a retired police officer and I can say that I am truely sorry for the family and friends of the officers. I put some of the blame for this squarely on the shoulders of the federal governement who for years have been toying with the idea of decriminalizing pot and the justice system that simply ignoring prosecution of drug offences. Then they wonder why all these grow-ups are springing up all over the place. It has now gotten so bad, we are not now talking about a grow up per town, they are almost per street.

If you can't stand behind our troops,
Please feel free to stand in front of them!!!
Experience is that marvellous thing that enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again

My thoughts and prayers go to the familes of these brave officers.
On a side note i really hope this changes the thinking of our law enforcement. The soft multi layer kevlar vests are only useful for stopping hand gun rounds; even though only 6.5% of all guns in Canada fall in this catagory. I have read multiple news reports on this situation and I am troubled by the delay the other officers in responding to the original gunshots. Why a special divivision was not used for the original arrest ( I.E. SWAT) i dont know as the arestee had a very lengthy criminal record, including violent gun crimes. I feel this was a waste of our officers and can only be blamed on those who make these type of decisions.
I hope and pray that these officers have not lost there lives in vane and may God watch over ther families. Amen.
