Algonquin park - april 30'th

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Algonquin park - april 30'th

Post by jsdx »

After looking at the weather forcast for the weekend, we decided to cancel our weekend plans for opening trout in algonquin ... . Flurries and lows of -3 or -4 were too much.

So, I was surpried to receive a phone call this morning at 7:45 - "Hey the weather in Two rivers is supposed to be nice (+10 and cloudy) while everywhere else is raining" ... lets go anyway, just for the day ! ... so we did ...

Load up canoe ... (note - no FH hat - too cold, need a FH touque)

See the weather is fine !

Keep up spirits (thanks to anonymous fisherman who took photo)

Yes, thats snow and ice on the edge of the lake

Results ...

You'd think I'd be happier ...

So, total specks, 6 and the rain held off all day.

I am happy but the pic doesn't show it for sure ...
Anyhow, I think my expression has something to do with being uncomfortable when turning my fat *ss around in a canoe. :D

I'm not used to the abuse a full day in a canoe brings ... I must be getting used to the soft comfy chairs in my big boat.

Good Stuff guys!

I know my spine would take a beating now, but I could sit in a canoe for days 10 years ago. I got pretty good at standing in it when by myself and winds calm.

I hear ya, jsdx. The other day I planted some flower bulbs for about 1/2 an hour. Next day, I wondered "why is my ash can aching"? Guess squatting for even a short time is a good workout for the butt! Canoes, included?!

I'm glad you got out there. Pretty fish and scenery; thx for the pics.

W.
Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.
