Make sure you have read the regulation book, and have it and your licence with you. If you are new, you want to be able to identify what you caught, in case it is OOS. There are lots of rules which make sense to the ministry that may not occur to the average Joe, eg. what tackle is in your possession at what time of year. For years I had one little fishing box, with everything I had in it, 'til someone told me that I could fined, even if I was just fishing from the dock in May with a hook and bobber. Today, Opie would have to have his birth certificate with him. (Older folks will understand that allusion)
I love them, they're oh so very overlooked and they're deadly, beit trolling for rainbows or in rivers for running steelhead. I've also heard Pike like 'em and I've caught more than one bass on 'em too.
anybody else that could add anything like why u like baitcasting better than spinning or when and how you would use flipping, lets remember it's for newbies, great lures for bass or pike or walleye. how and when u would use senkos, crankbaits, spinnerbaits yes white ones, please enough people inhere we could fillup 10 pages in a very short while i'm sure.

1st would be a map of the body of water.. try to eliminate a percentage of the lake..pick an area and fish it thoroughly with a variety of baits...remember fish live in water there is very little bad water for a fish...you may not get as many fish as other parts of the lake however you may outfish everyone else on the lake...thats why its called fishing not catching......
GL all zoomer
On the Ottawa for Walleye, I'm with Wallyboss, jig tipped with a worm, followed by small spinner/worm combos like earie dearie's, uzick's and finally a bottom bouncer
