this morning on the radio they were reporting MNR stating to be VERY careful on the ice. Calling the lakes and rivers SNOWMOBILE TRAPS (and ice-fishermen) right now because of the heavy snow on the relatively thin ice. The snow insulates the ice and prevents it from thickening.
So if you're going out over the holidays BE SURE its safe to do so.
i was buzzing around the local lakes for a few days on sleds b4 that heavy snow fall. youd be nuts to go out thee now, unless your riding , like a 900 and have your thunmb to the bar.
yeah i agree Joco....i know everyone gets tired of the 'warnings' to. Just figured since that was coming from the MNR about the ice being insulated and not thickening, that i would risk adding another message about it
It's just not worth the effort yet.... But when the ice is finally ready wow.. will this site get busy with storys.
Ya gotta like the idea of fishin in the yard in the shack for some brown trout! Catch my limit and sometimes I go over and the wife lets me know about.
Keep the shacks in the yard fellas and jump the odd time for your rod. Great practice...
