So right away we are thinking man are we in for some good fishing, boy we were wrong. An hour and a half later finally another of the rod goes off and Barney pulls in his new pb eye, happy times again here is the pic....

Well we were hopefull again, and after another hour Jackel gets one on, but about 100ft from the boat its doing the walleye skip and gets off

We stayed out till about 7:30 that evening trying everything we possibly could think of, every lure every depth, different lengths of line out, different speeds, but nothing caught. We did make contact with three other fish but no hookups. We finally called it a day and headed back to the shoe box of a room we had.....

Saturday was a new day which we hoped would bring new promise, well promisses are made to be broken it seems. We were the first boat out at around 5:45am. We once again started in the same area as before. About 2 and a half hours later it was looking like it was going to rain and the sw wind was getting chilly so we decided to erect the makeshift enclosure I designed for protection.....

Man it worked like a charm, I think I have found a new career, building welfare tops for boats. It cost me 30 dollars and about 4 hrs of my time, it is enclosed on three sides and was nice and toasty. Anyway while we were setting it up the drag on one of the rods goes nuts, now it was Jackels turn to fight a big guy, he didnt belive me and thought I was messing around. Well once I gave him the rod he thought otherewise and said this is a big fish. Well it was a decent fish, just not what we were after. I would of been happy with it but he wanted a big eye. It was a nice 11 lb pike......

While bringing in the pike the planer board came off and drifted away, goodbye 35 dollar board we couldnt find.

So we started again and another hour or so goes by and finally another rod goes, it was my turn again and it was an eye, but not a big one about 3lbs, still anice fish in my books......

Well we tried until sunset but the fish just were not cooperating this weekend, just bad timing I guess. But we were relieved to find out that everyone pretty much only caught a few if any fish, in fact a few people were asking us for advice which surprised us. We told them what we could to try to help them and I know it did for a couple of guys.

So we pulled the boat out and packed her up and headed for home, but we will be going back soon to try again.
Here are a couple mor pics....
Me in my mad walleye fishing disguise...

And my boat with the makeshift enclosure if you can see it.....

So hopefully next time we go we will have more pics of big eyes and a better report. And I really like my survival suit, it really kept me warm, even though it makes me look huge. Thats the funny thing, everywhere you looked you could see bright orange and red dots all over the water, all the other guys out there in their suits

So take care everyone and good luck to you guys heading there this week, hopefully you have better luck than all the people there this past weekend.
