Action shot

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Action shot

Post by Netman »

After putting some bait on my jig i was about to put it down the hole when i noticed my tip up line which was set up some 20' away from me. I looked down the hole and saw this. Image
I watched him for a couple of minutes until he ran again but when i went to set the hook the bait came right out. The perch i was using was 7" long. If you look at the top of the pic you can see part of another pike that was interested in what this guy had.

I didn't know that you could use perch as bait in the St.Lawrence. That's a good picture.

The camera i have is a 5 yr. old 3 mega pixel centrios. The water here on the St. Lawrence is gin clear thanks to the zebra mussels. It was 8' deep in that particular spot. You can clearly see to depths of 30+ feet, which makes for some great sight fishing!

Subject:Fishing Require Reply:yes Comment:Have the laws for using perch as bait on the st. Lawrence changed in the new regs?? In the past years it was ok. Regards, Steven Quartus Page that likely generated this feedback:http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/MNR/csb/messag ... tmlBrowser type used to view referring page:Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U;Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071127 Firefox/2.0.0.11

Hello Steven Quartus: There has been no change in the regulations regarding the use of perch as bait in the St. Lawrence River, Zone 20. In adjacent Zone 18, only live or dead bait fish less than 5.1 inches may be used. Thanks, I was thinking it was an underwater camera to get a clear picture like that.
