Ice condition on the Big Bay at Petrie

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Ice condition on the Big Bay at Petrie

Post by bassman40 »

Hi guys,

does anyone know of the current ice conditions on the big bay at Petrie?
I'd expect this cold snap will increase thickness for sure.
Was hoping to get out this weekend if it's not too cold.

I imagine your refering to ''Walleye Bay'' which has been frozen and fished for a month now. Shacks just about everywhere  Don't know how much ice is there now but there was almost a foot three weeks ago.

I'm not sure what the name of the bay is ,,,I simply call it the "big" bay related to the outer bay on the river itself.
I find the fishing better there than in the smaller back bay which most folks call "crappie" bay???
Thanks for the info.
