Hi guys,

does anyone know of the current ice conditions on the big bay at Petrie?
I'd expect this cold snap will increase thickness for sure.
Was hoping to get out this weekend if it's not too cold.

there was about 10-12" last weekend lots of vehicles on it

I imagine your refering to ''Walleye Bay'' which has been frozen and fished for a month now. Shacks just about everywhere :wink: Don't know how much ice is there now but there was almost a foot three weeks ago.

I'm not sure what the name of the bay is ,,,I simply call it the "big" bay related to the outer bay on the river itself.
I find the fishing better there than in the smaller back bay which most folks call "crappie" bay???

Does that mean if you catch nothing its called "Waste of Time Bay"???

What if you catch sewage....is it then Bay Of Sh....???

But nothing is more disgusting than an Ottawa river Whitefish, woolyfish or peanuted brown-trout!!!

The logs aren't lost a few people found them :shock: , I was out last night and it's almost 2 feet thick about 40 yards past the huts
