Couple o' musky at the creek

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Couple o' musky at the creek

Post by lapointeric »

We came up 2 weekends ago. The water was moving VERY fast, and was higher than I ever seen before. We went home without even a follow.

Different story this time. Water was back to normal levels, and the current was much slower (though still moving). The water temp was obviously quite cold (didn't get a reading, I don't normally bring my fish finder).

They were very lethargic. Usually you would SEE the strike and react with a hook-set, but they were almost just closing their mouth on the hook and slowly swimming away. You couldn't tell between a snag and fish.

No sign of the monster today... they were all in the 4-6 lb range.

I managed to rest my thumb comfortably in this gals mouth. I had to pry the mouth open with my plier handles, push my finger back into her mouth and then out. Had she done a head shake, I'd probably have less of my thumb today.

Cheers!

NICE outing boys! Love the look of that day...

You guys are slaying them with impunity!

Clint.. unmm... err.... are you afraid that your sunglasses are going to fall off if you stop leaning back?

Just bugging you! I have many shots of me where it looks like I sharted in my pants at the moment the shutter clicked!

We will have to figure out a way to get you both up here for some fun!

Lol Craig, it's because he notoriously takes ridiculous pictures with a dumb facial expression, so that was his attempt to be straight faced.
