And since I'll be arriving at the launch fairly early on Saturday, I'll bring some firewood to start a fire to keep us warm in the morning. So count on me for that part of it...
Anything else I should bring?
Perhaps a license if you are going to start a fire. Not sure if one is needed, but it would be a good idea to make sure.
I had a fire going there on the weekend, and a couple of the City of Ottawa type folks came by and didn't say a thing about it...and then the next day some more City staff were there while I was burning some logs, and they didn't say anything about it, even though they came down and started chatting with us about my Muskie catch *LOL* And I mentioned that I had the fire going for some warmth and they said, Good idea!

LOL sure why not??
Although I was just planning on bringing those fire-logs things because they burn for so long, and are really easy to light in on a windy day (I'd never last on Survivor!!)
They reccommend that you don't cook food over them however as I believe they soak the compressed woodchips in some sort of flammable oil or something.
Ahhh heck who knows, maybe I'll bring real firewood too *L* I'll bring extra for sure for afterwards, or if anyone fishes from shore for a bit...
Hey Dave. The fire idea is great. I like fire . the walls tell me to burn things .
Nice to gather arround it and tell muskie stories, scary .
See u all on the 30th.

Just spoke to Jake from Manotic Bait and he wanted me to relay that the store will be open at 6:30am for those who want to pick up live bait. For any Hawk-talkers he will give 20% off all in stock muskie baits, hooks and leaders(ie, buck tails, Believers...) and 10% off all in stock Muskie rods(including the new shimano ones). This sale is for saturday only.
Jake said the seminar will be about 30-40min followed by a Q & A.
There's talk of a possible thunderstorm tomorrow. Being in an alluminum boat in the water with lightening flashing around, what's the safest thing to do? Head to shore and get out of the boat, or ???
