Perhaps a license if you are going to start a fire. Not sure if one is needed, but it would be a good idea to make sure.DaveH wrote:Yeppers! WIG and I are gonna rack up some serious points for Team 4!!!
And since I'll be arriving at the launch fairly early on Saturday, I'll bring some firewood to start a fire to keep us warm in the morning. So count on me for that part of it...
Anything else I should bring?

You don't need a licence at Taylor Park.
They have a little fire-pit right near the dock.
I had a fire going there on the weekend, and a couple of the City of Ottawa type folks came by and didn't say a thing about it...and then the next day some more City staff were there while I was burning some logs, and they didn't say anything about it, even though they came down and started chatting with us about my Muskie catch *LOL* And I mentioned that I had the fire going for some warmth and they said, Good idea!
So, I think we're clear!

LOL sure why not??Bobber wrote:Fantastic. Can I bring some marshmallows and chocolate to make "smores"
Although I was just planning on bringing those fire-logs things because they burn for so long, and are really easy to light in on a windy day (I'd never last on Survivor!!)
They reccommend that you don't cook food over them however as I believe they soak the compressed woodchips in some sort of flammable oil or something.
Ahhh heck who knows, maybe I'll bring real firewood too *L* I'll bring extra for sure for afterwards, or if anyone fishes from shore for a bit...

1 more day!
There's talk of a possible thunderstorm tomorrow. Being in an alluminum boat in the water with lightening flashing around, what's the safest thing to do? Head to shore and get out of the boat, or ???
